We’re proud to announce we now stock ARROJO product, an independent hair care brand created by Nick Arrojo.

For seven seasons Nick was the hair stylist on TLC’s What Not to Wear, and has a long history of product development for the likes of Wella and Bumble and Bumble, before creating his own line, which is now used professionally at ARROJO studio, a multi-award-winning New York City hair salon synonymous with excellence and integrity.

ARROJO product is a contemporary, performance-driven concept. At its core is Vitamin B5. The most sophisticated active ingredient (fact) available in hair care, it is proven to moisturize, create shine, anti-oxidize, smooth the cuticle, promote hair growth and cell production, and improve scalp circulation. Vitamin B5 adds strength and vitality, fullness, body, and sheen for all people, and for all types of hair.

What truly sets this brand apart, however, is its modern-day versatility. In alignment with a desire to make hairstyling personalized, creative and fun, there is a shampoo and conditioner combination for every hair type, while each styling product is purposely made to have cocktailing potential, multi-functional uses, features and benefits.

Modern, functional, fashion-forward, ARROJO product empowers each person to find the freedom to create beautiful shape and style.

Fall is in the Hair!

how-to-blow-dry-curly-hair Spice up your look for Fall with these new spiral curling tips, tools, and techniques!

Always start with towel dried hair, then apply a combination heat protectant and curl definer such as Aquage’s Curl Defining Crème. For volume and hold, apply a great mousse such as Aveda’s Phomollient. Start with two inch wide sections, working with layers underneath first graduating to top layers.

Blow Dryer: Use a round brush to twirl hair vertically from ends to roots. Apply heat from blow dryer for a few seconds. Remove heat and hold brush in place vertically as the hair cools. Then release.

Curling Iron: Tuck the end of a section of hair into the clamp of a hot curling iron. Wind hair vertically as far up as you can go. Leave for ten seconds or less depending on how hot your iron is. Be careful not to burn your hair! Carefully unwind two times, then gently release the clamp and pull iron down releasing hair.

Flatiron: Press the flatiron closed on a section of hair as close to the roots as possible. Twist the flatiron in the direction that you want the curls to go and slide the flatiron through the hair twisting as you slide the iron down. The flatiron should remain perpendicular to the hair. Never leave the flatiron clamped onto the hair for more than a second or it may burn your hair! Keep the flatiron gliding through your hair as you twist.

Always finish these looks by spraying all over with an environmentally friendly aerosal hairspray such as the new strong hold Control Force by Aveda. The stylists at Lava Hair Studio would love to demonstrate these styles for you. Request a reservation by calling 706-429-0001 or book online!
